|Do you? |
The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.
As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God? –Psalm 42:1-2
…the Lord has sought out a man after his own heart and appointed him leader of his people…
-1 Samuel 13:14
The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him. – Lamentations 3:25
God wants you to hunger for him like David did. He wants you to put all of your trust and hope in him. He wants you to seek him in everything and for everything. He wants to abundantly bless you, but you have to seek him in spirit and in truth.
Paul hungered for God so much. Take a look at all the books he wrote. His life after his repentance was a constant race (Not that I have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that which Christ Jesus took hold of me….I press on towards the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenwards in Christ Jesus.-Philippians 3:12-14) He was indeed another man after Gods’ heart! Through all of his hardships and trials, he never once questioned God. He used every bad situation to draw nearer to God. He wrote some of his best letters while he was in prison.
How do you think these men made God feel?
Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no-one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.”
Replace your name with Job’s, and then imagine if God spoke this concerning you. How does that make you feel? What changes do you need to make in your life to make that dream a reality? What is stopping you?
