|Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshippers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshippers must worship in Spirit and in truth. ~John 4:23-24
Who are true worshippers? What is the criterion for being a true worshipper?
When we hear the word worshipping, we usually think of being in Church praying and singing… According to Webster’s dictionary, worship is defined as prayer, service, etc. in reverence to a deity. It is also intense love or admiration. Are you a true worshipper?
As we all know, God does not look at the things that man looks at. He looks at the heart and not the outward appearance. So brethren, our worship has to be a lot more that going to Church and saying a prayer here and there. It is not just about saying that we love God. True worshipping is so much more than that. It is about always being on fire for God. It is about appreciating the blood of innocence that was shed on our behalf and not trampling the name of the Lord. It is about suffering for being a Christian. It is about being a Christian even when the world is not watching. It is about giving your heart to God. It is about obeying his commandments. It is about helping the poor, needy, and the less privileged in general.
True worshipping lies in the heart. It is about what you do behind closed doors. It is about what you do about the name of the Lord in the world. It is letting the light of God in you shine even when you might get persecuted for it. It is about loving God with all your heart. It is about being the sheep that Jesus described in Matthew 25:32-46. It is about the convictions we feel when we fall. It is about getting up and fighting till the end of the race. It is about winning souls for the Kingdom of Heaven. It is about forgiving each other and praying for each other. It is about seeing the good in everybody. It is about repentance and new beginnings.
So brethren, are you true worshippers? If not, what are you going to do about it?
Stay blessed and spread the word.
