|The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you. –Psalm 9:9-10
God is bringing encouragement to someone reading this today.
Have you ever experienced a season in your life, when you felt that everything was going wrong? Have you ever felt that God has turned his back on your and a deaf ear to your prayers? Have you ever wondered if God was ever going to deliver you from your troubling situation?
I am here to tell you today not to fret! God is going to restore you as long as you do not give up hope. I know a couple that was seeking God’s favor for a child. Every time the wife got pregnant, a few months later she had a miscarriage. In spite of all of this, they never gave up hope, and for years they continued to look onto God. I am delighted to tell you that they are now the parents of a pair of 1 year old beautiful twins.
The God we serve likes to do big things, and if you would only be patient and remain hopeful, he will do something big out of that trying situation in your life. Sarah and Abraham had to wait until they were 90 & 100 respectively to have a child. Mary and Martha had to wait until several days after the death of their brother Lazarus for their miracle. Job had to wait until he had almost succumbed to the pestilence of death for his restoration. These people may have never realized the magnitude of what God had in store for them if they did not remain righteous, hopeful and persistent.
Many times, we try to rush ahead of God, and we end up with Ishmaels in our lives (Abraham’s ‘illegitimate’ child with Hagar, his maidservant). Please brethren I urge you not to rush ahead of God’s will. As long as you serve and worship him in spirit and in truth, and you continuously seek his righteousness, he has no choice but to move in your situation. He says in his word that heaven and earth will fade, but not a word that has proceeded out of his mouth will go unfulfilled. Have faith in his word! He says that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him, so I suggest that you give him no rest until he moves.
God wants you to persistent in your prayers; remember the story of the persistent widow in Luke 18. And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?” My gosh! Do you hear that? What I want you to hold onto from this selection is, “When the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?” WHEN GOD COMES TO MOVE IN YOUR SITUATION, WILL HE FIND FAITH IN YOUR HEART?
