PRIDE & HUMILITY
A man's pride will bring him low, but he who is lowly in spirit will obtain honor. ~Proverbs 29:23

Pride is one of the easiest measures through which the devil gets to us. Pride is the feeling that we are always right; pride is looking down on others because of who we think we are. Pride is being conceited. Pride is being arrogant. Pride clouds our judgment. Pride destroys relationships. Pride kills!

I am sure we have all being in different situations when we couldnít bring ourselves to do something we knew we ought to do because of pride. I personally remember an incident when I felt like a friend had wronged me and I thought I had every right in the world to be upset, so I walked around with a chip on my shoulder. I knew deep down in my heart that I should have humbled myself and done something about it, but I didnít want to because in my eyes, I had done no wrong. In a nutshell, something that could have been resolved in a few minutes became a huge ordeal. This is how pride works. It starts of with a little thought, and then it grows into a feeling, and then it becomes an action.

As children of God, one of the most important traits we ought to possess is humility!! God said, ďHumble yourselves, and I will lift you up.Ē Like the verse above says, a manís pride will bring him low, but he who is lowly in spirit will obtain honor. When we lift ourselves high, we better be sure that God is going to pull us down and that will only bring disgrace and humiliation. We canít go around praising ourselves and telling the world how great we look or how wonderful we are. What God is calling us to do is to be who we are, and let the world praise us. Blend into the background sometimes, and let people point you out. We donít always have to be the center of attention, we donít always have to be right, and we donít always have to be victim! We have to stop being of the world, we have to be the bigger person sometimes, and we have to be wrong sometimes, even if we donít think we are. This is what God wants.

Humble yourself and he will lift you up. Blend into the background and he will shine the spot light on you. Accept that you might be wrong, and let him show you that you are right. Be the bigger person, and heap burning coals on the head of the person that wronged you. There is nothing that God loves more than a humble spirit, so imagine how much more he is going to love you if you possess that humble spirit that he loves so much!

Pride is just like cancer, it gradually eats away at you until you are diminished. You have the cure, so immune yourselves before you contact the virus.

Stay blessed and spread the word.
