|ďBut I will stay in Ephesus until Pentecost, because a great door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many who oppose me.Ē ~2 Corinthians 16:8-9
Now when I went to Troas to preach the gospel of Christ and found that the Lord had opened a door for meÖ ~2 Corinthians 2:12
As Christians, we have a wonderful opportunity to spread the gospel now more than ever. When I think back to the days of the apostles, they were getting stoned, imprisoned, and killed for preaching the gospel, yet they were so encouraged. As you can see from the above verses, Paul was so excited that he took advantage of every opportunity to walk through an open door, in spite of opposition. A great door of effective work has opened to YOU; what are you going to do? Walk through or walk away?
Think about the unparalleled door of opportunity that stands wide open before us to reach the entire world. How many people have you encountered that needed to be ministered to? How did you react? Did you take advantage of it, or did you miss the opportunity? Did you feel uncomfortable? Follow Paulís example and walk in through as many open doors as you possibly can.
On a different note, God opens doors for different areas in each of our lives, but we have a choice on whether to walk through or not. There are some of you that are in relationships that you are unsure about; God opens a door for you to either walk in further or walk out, but because of fear, you do your thing. The same goes for your jobs, school, and every other thing you can think about it.
What are you doing with the doors that God has opened for you?
One of my favourite sayings is that ďDonít spend so much time focusing on a closed door that you miss the one that God opened behind you.Ē What doors do you feel that God has closed in your life? What jobs, relationships, decisions, etc are bringing unhappiness to you and those around you? Why continue fighting for something that may not necessarily be Godís will? God is offering you a way out today; what are you going to do with it?
God has your best interest at heart. If you find yourself battling against yourself and God, then it more than likely isnít Godís will.
Stay blessed and spread the word.
