|• Do you feel that you are living up to all that God demands of you as a disciple?
• Should you make changes to your lifestyle, priorities, desires, dreams, and relationships in order to take this request seriously?
• What support might you need in order to be able to make those changes?
As we ask ourselves these questions, let us all take a good look inside ourselves. Are we living up to all that God demands of us? Is there anything that is hindering us from doing what we ought to do as Christians? It might be a relationship where the partner is not as spiritual as we are that may be hindering us from growing. It might be some dreams that we want to accomplish that are not in line with God’s will for our lives.
Whatever it may be, we ought to realize that God is the only person that will always be there when no one else is. We have to always place him first above all else. If we have to change our dreams, priorities, lifestyles, or even end relationships to further our spirituality, then we have to make that sacrifice. Being a Christian is one of the hardest things to do because we have to die to the world so that we can be reborn into the path that leads to eternity. We have to deny ourselves the pleasures of the flesh that we loved to engage in when we lived in the world.
Lastly, what support do we need to make these changes? The first thing we need to do is to turn to God. Then a strong Bible based church and fellowship. And another important thing to do is to surround ourselves with people that will challenge us spiritually; people who will make us want to be better Christians. Engage in relationships that will benefit you as a Christian. We all know what we have to do, but the million-dollar question is; are we going to do it? Or are we going to punk out and continue to be mediocre Christians?
Stay blessed and spread the word.
