|Have you ever wondered what the purpose of this life we live on earth is? As Christians, we know that someday, we are going to our homes in paradise to reside there permanently with the Most High. So what is this whole life for?|
One theory is that this life we are living now is a test. Residing with God in heaven is a privilege that a few will get to enjoy. Matthew 7:14 says that narrow is the road that leads to Heaven and only a few find it. We are all being tested frequently to prove that we are worthy of going through that narrow gate. We are being tested to prove that we are worthy to be used by God. We are being tested to show God that his blood that was shed was not wasted on us. So how would you know when you are being tested?
I like to view every experience, both good and bad, that I encounter in my life as a test. When the good times come, I am tested to see how I show my appreciation. Do I get proud and forget to acknowledge God? Do I thank him? Do I still seek him?
When I pray for something, and Godís answer is wait, my patience is tested. Do I take things into my own hands? Do I continue to seek God? Do I turn to others for the answer I was supposed to get from God?
When things go wrong in my life, I am tested on my reaction. Do I turn my back on God? Do I throw myself a pity party? Do I continue to fervently seek Godís help and guidance?
I sometimes picture God in heaven with a list of all the tests we are going to be faced with, and as we go through them, he writes either a pass or fail next to each one.
Every experience you go through can be viewed as a test. How do you react? You need to get to a place in your spiritual walk where you can find godly joy in every situation, no matter how difficult it may be. You need to believe in His promise in 1 Corinthians 10:13 that he will never put more on you than you can bear. So brethren, let the God in you shine through all your tests and trials, and the more you do this, the more it is credited to you as righteousness.
When you get into heaven, do you think you passes would out number your failures?
Consider it pure joy, my brothers whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. ĖJames 1:2-4
Stay blessed and spread the word.
