HIS PRESENCE
Why, O Lord, do you stand far off? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble? ĖPsalm 10:1

There are so many times that many of us as Christians donít feel the presence of God around us for long periods. As babes in Christ, you probably felt on fire for God most of the time, you felt his presence all around you and it was the greatest feeling ever. So, why does God allow this feeling to subside, especially when we are going through hardships?

I always thought this myself, but why have we reduced God to a mere emotion? Feeling the presence of God is great, but he is so much more than that. He wants you to have faith in the promise he gave to you in Hebrews 13:5 that he will never leave or forsake you. The fact that you do not always feel Godís presence does not mean he is not there.

Take a look at the story of Job. He felt like God had turned his back on him, but that did not stop him from talking to him. How about Jesus, the Son of God. When he was hanging on the cross, he yelled out ďMy Lord, My Lord, why have you forsaken me? He knew that God was there and could have stopped the pain in a heartbeat, but he also knew had to die so that we might live and even this did no stop him from crying out to God. God knows that we have emotions, but he wants us to still come to him even if those emotions donít feel his presence. During your hardships, talk to God, voice out you anger to him, tell him to help you. When you donít feel his presence, still talk to him because he is there!

He is the same God that allowed Job to be tested. During this test, his presence was always there with Job, but he didnít allow him to feel it because Job had to prove his faith, the same way you and I have to. So the next time you do not feel the presence of God in your life, take heart and have faith that he is always there even if you donít feel him.

Stay blessed and spread the word.
