|Who, then, is the man that fears the Lord? He will instruct him in the way chosen for him. –Psalm 25:12
We all say that we want guidance from God and we might sometimes wonder how to get this. Well, the verse above says it all. Fear God!!! Not fear as in being afraid of him, but to respect and revere him. If you do this, God will not only instruct you in the way to go, he will also help you get where you need to be.
Guidance from God is an ongoing process, so we have to make sure that we stay in line with His will after he does instruct us. The way God chooses for us is not always an easy way, so we need to be attentive, obedient, patient, and steadfast. Most importantly though, we have to be submissive, especially when God’s way isn’t what we hoped for.
God’s time is the best time, his plan is the best plan, his will is the best will, and the list just goes on. We have to first be willing to accept the fact that what we want might not be what is best for us, and so what God does might not be what we want, but in the scheme of things it is best. When we fear God, we love, respect, obey, and trust in him, so we just have to have faith that he will guide us in the right path.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” –Jeremiah 29:11
Stay blessed and spread the word.
