|“Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” –Hebrews 13:5
Do you feel the power in those 10 words? What do they mean to you? How does it make you feel to be able to say that God is with you every second of everyday, in every turn of life? Strange? Special? Scared? Safe?
If you asked the same question of Abraham, David, Elijah, Paul, Esther, etc, they would have told you that it was the promise that guided their lives. It was true for them, but do you honestly believe the same to be true for you? If you believe that Jesus came into the world and died for your sins, then you’d be a fool not to believe that his promise is true. People have staked their lives on the truth and promise that God was always with them. The promise gave Moses the strength to face Pharaoh with boldness, it gave Ruth the courage to go for what she wanted, it also gave Abraham the faith to attempt to sacrifice his son, and it gave Jesus the power to overcome the devil. What does the promise do for you? It is one thing to believe that it is true, but it is another to act like it is.
Paul suggests that this promise should give you the confidence to say “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do unto me?” True faith only comes when you can trust God to meet your needs and be your security. In your fears, your hurts, your struggles, your trials and temptations, your tribulations, trust in the promise that God will never leave you or forsake you.
The most influential people in the Bible and in life have done great things and taken great risks believing nothing but the promise that God will never leave or forsake them, and with this came great rewards. Are you willing to take that leap of faith?
Are you struggling with summoning up enough courage to stand up to the Pharaohs and devils in your life? Are you struggling with having enough faith to believe that your situation will get better? Are you having a hard time seeing the bright light at the end of the tunnel? Then trust in his promise and watch the mountains in your life turn into mole hills. Believe in it and see how quickly the devil flees from you. Accept it and experience how it amazingly transforms you.
Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” –Isaiah 30:21. Trust that voice! It will never leave you nor forsake you. No matter where you go or what you go through, God goes with you. Now, how does that strike you?
Stay blessed and spread the word.
