|Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead... ~Philippians 3:13-15
Have you ever found yourself struggling to become something, and you don't
even know what it is? Have you ever been extremely busy, but you just
couldn't seem to get anything done? Have you ever found yourself being tired
after a good night rest?
I have been in those places many times, and I still find myself there
sometimes, but when I read about Paul, I have hope. Paul was so successful
because he had a goal in mind (vs. 14- I press on towards the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.), and he lived his life trying to achieve that goal.
What is your goal in life? What do you want to accomplish? The first
question you should be asking is; what does God want you to accomplish? If
you really want to know then I suggest that you seek out wisdom in the Bible so as to figure out the purpose for which you were created. Go to God in prayer and ask him to reveal his purpose to you.
After you have figured out what your purpose is, the other things you want to
accomplish in school, at work, in your relationships, marriages, etc can follow. Often times, you want to do so much that you don't even know how to find a balance. When this happens, you start many things and never finish anything, you get burned out for nothing, and you aren't motivated. How can you get motivated?
FOCUS! Steal away from everything and everyone and organize things (get a
planner or just write them down). Figure out what is most important and
prioritize that; finish that first, and then move on to the next important and
so on. You are only one person, and you can only EFFECTIVELY do one thing at a
time. Do not overextend yourself or you will burn yourself out and not get
You will be a lot more efficient if you are organized, and the more organized
you are, the more focused your life will be. Your life would be a lot more
relaxed if you have it under control and the only way to do this is to have a
godly focus on everything. I say godly focus because God has to be present in
the equation; only in and through him can you do all things. -Philippians 4:13
Brethren, be encouraged and give back control of your life to God through
organization and focus.
Stay blessed and spread the word.
