|Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gains understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold. She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her ~Proverbs 3:13-15
One of the most important treasures that we all seek for in life and only a few seem to find is wisdom. Wisdom, as we see throughout the entire Bible is one of the most valuable assets that any Christian can possess. How can you find this treasure that only a few find?
Many people go to Church, listen to sermons, read religious books, listen to Christian CDs, but wisdom is still missing somehow. ‘Why is this?’ we may ask. Why don’t we take second and ask ourselves that question. Do we go to Church seeking wisdom? Do we read the Bible searching for the wisdom of God in it? Do we listen to sermons? I mean do we really listen to sermons?
Proverbs 8:1 says “Does not wisdom call out? Does not understanding raise her voice?” Yes they do, but we will not hear or find them until we look and listen for them. If we read this chapter a little further down to vs. 18 we find this verse…”I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.” It is just that simple. What our whole life boils down to is the reason behind everything we do, and if we sincerely live our lives searching for wisdom, we will certainly find it. I am sure King Solomon would tell us the same thing. We have to hear wisdom’s voice, and obey and apply her principles. The more we do this, the more we grow in wisdom.
Why don’t we try to seek wisdom today?
Stay blessed and spread the word.
