|“For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship.” –Romans 8:15 |
Once you receive Christ, you automatically receive the Spirit of sonship, and you become heirs to his glory as well as his sufferings. If you know you are a child of Christ, why then would you submit to the spirit of fear? We have a Spirit that is far greater than anything this world can conceive. If we know this, why do we get scared of speaking things into being? Why are we scared of ministering to people? Why are we scared of showing our fellow brothers and sisters the error of their ways? Why do we get scared when obstacles come our way? Why do we get scared when we are tempted? These are a few questions we need to ask ourselves.
The Lord said in his word that he has not given us the spirit of timidity/fear, but a Spirit of power, of love, and of self-discipline. We have the spirit of love to minister to people and to show our brothers the errors of their way; we have the spirit of power to prevail over our obstacles; we have the spirit of self-control to overcome our temptations.
Your father has spoken, why do still doubt him? You have the Spirit of sonship, and that soars above everything else. Take that courage that God has planted inside of you and use it, take care of it and let it grow! Take that spirit and speak things into being! Don’t submit to the spirit of fear because it is of the devil. Once you get timid, the devil doesn’t stop there, he brings temptations, and then he just keeps coming till he has you under his control and under eternal damnation. God has provided you with a way out!!! He is telling you today that the devil cannot touch you unless you allow him; you cannot fall unless willingly trip over something that could have been avoided. You have freewill; so are you going to continue to be submissive to your fears or are you going to stand tall and look every thing that brings fear in the face and proclaim that you are a SON and hereby a heir of God and co-heirs with Christ. –Romans 8:17
