|Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Saviour, and my hope is in you all day long. ĖPsalm 25:4-5
Many Christians still do not know or understand how God operates in our day to day lives. We read examples throughout the Bible about how he moved in the lives of others, but we somehow canít see that happening in our lives. Why is this?
When we donít understand how God works in our lives, we cannot grow. When we canít see Godís hands in our day to day lives, we make decisions that arenít in line with Godís will. We do things when they feel right, rather than waiting on Godís timing. It is one thing to believe that God moves in mysterious ways, but then it is another to believe that he will move mysteriously in our lives everyday. We have to realize and consciously acknowledge his hands in our everyday lives.
I am sure we have all realized that we cannot live life to our fullest potential on our own best efforts; I know I have! God longs to share his will for our lives with us, but he will not do that until we come to him in total trust and humility like David did. God can truly do amazing things in our lives, but we have to truly try at all cost to put ourselves in a position to see his work in our lives. He wants us to come to him as children, completely dependent on him and obedient to his will. You may not understand where God is taking you or what he is doing in your life, but that is where trust and faith come in.
God can use you like he did Moses, Abraham, David, Jeremiah, Peter, Paul, Deborah, Ruth, etc, but you have to avail yourselves. Donít focus so much on where this life is taking you, instead make the best of every situation and use every situation you find yourself in to grow in Christ and depend more on him. The more you do this, the more his plan will be revealed to you. I donít know where this world is taking me, and I honestly donít fully know where God is taking me either, but one thing I do know is that I am going to do whatever it takes to realign myself with God so that I may stand in his perfect will. I donít want to make the mistake of stepping out of Godís will; I want to rely on Godís mind at all times rather than my own; I want to obey his will rather than my own; I want to wait on his timing rather than my own, and most importantly, I want to reach my full potential, and I know that my very best efforts will not even get me close to it.
I urge us all to put Godís daily power back into our understanding. Truly turn back to him and allow him to show you his ways, to teach you his paths; to guide you in his truth and teach you, for he is God your Saviour; that your hope may remain in him all day long.
Stay blessed and spread the word.
