|Cast all your cares on him because he cares for you. ~1 Peter 5:7
There are many times in our lives that we struggle with doubt even though we know that we ought to cast our cares on God. Even the disciples went through the same thing while they were with Jesus. If you go to Mark 10: 30-44, you will read about the story of Jesus feeding 5000 out of 5 loaves and 2 fish. Before he performed this awesome miracle, the disciples saw the crowd and told Jesus to send them off so that they could buy food. Jesus said to them in vs. 37, “You give them something to eat.” They began to doubt, and one of them even replied saying that “it would take 8 months of a man’s wage to feed a crowd like this. Are we going to spend that much on bread and give them to eat?”
How could the disciples that stood next to Jesus every single day doubt like this? What are we, who cannot see Jesus, supposed to do? Cast all our cares on him!!! Believe in his promises! Trust in the power of his name! Although the disciples doubted, they were still obedient to Jesus' instructions; they found 5 loaves and 2 fish and brought it to him. The crowd and the disciples all ate to their fill, and there were still baskets left over.
Brethren, when in doubt, bring what you have before God, and cast your cares on him. If it is dreams, bring them before him. Money, bring the little you have before him. Problems, bring them before him. If you do this, the same God that turned 5 loaves and 2 fish into food for thousands of people will turn your dreams into realities, multiply your wealth, and solve your problems. If ever you begin to doubt, just remember that the disciples couldn’t solve the problem with man’s wisdom and neither can you.
Cast your cares upon him because he cares for you.
Stay blessed and spread the word.
