|He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.” –John 8:47|
There are two types of Christians in this world; those who believe in God and practice his teachings and those who just believe in God. Which are you?
As I read the verse above, I pondered on what it meant to me for minutes. After a short prayer God revealed to me what I am going to share with you today. Many “Christians” today are only Christians by name, but they rarely practice what they ought to. I have seen many so-called Christians living a lifestyle of sin; premarital sex, cursing, debauchery, adultery, hate, etc. But yet, they consider themselves Christians because they go to Church and know how to pray. Guess what?!?! They devil goes to Church and knows how to pray as well.
The word “Christianity” has become so decadent that it is almost worthless now. Everyone who goes to Church is considered a Christian by the world’s definition. So brethren, I ask you another question today; do you belong to God?
Jesus says to us in John 15:16 that “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit.” Many of us think that it is possible for us to choose God, but on that Day of Judgment, many will be unpleasantly surprised. Do you belong to God? Take an inventory of your life and really meditate on that question. Yes we are all imperfect, but there is a fine line between those who are fighting to enter in through the narrow gate and those who are blatantly bringing disrepute to the name of God. David was imperfect, but yet he belonged to God. Paul, John, Jacob, Abraham, Moses, etc were all imperfect people, but they belonged to God. They did his will, and they heard from him. Lucifer thought he was perfect, but…
Do you believe in the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit? Have you accepted them into your heart? Are you doing the will of the father? Are you getting back up every time you fall? Are you avoiding falling into the same sin over and over again? Are you saving souls for the kingdom? Are you truly serving God? If you honestly answered yes to all of these questions, then congratulations, you should be hearing from God because you belong to him. If you answered no to any one, then it is time for you to make some changes! It is time for you to rethink some of the things you are doing in your life. It is time for you to live a life that the father would consider worthy enough to be chosen.
“For many are called, but few are chosen.” You say that you are a Christian, but do you really belong to God? Are you a part of the chosen FEW?
Stay blessed and spread the word.
