|As for me, I am in your hands; do with me whatever you think is good and right. ~Jeremiah 26:14
God told Jeremiah to stand in the courtyard and speak to all the people of the towns of Judah who come to worship in the house of the Lord. God told him to tell them that their house would be like Shiloh and the city will be desolate and deserted. When he had finished speaking, the priests and the other people seized him and he came before the city officials, and the verse above were his words to them.
Have you ever been in a similar situation where you have been persecuted for doing the right thing? How did you handle it?
We need to develop a mentality like that of Jeremiah. He knew that what he did was right, and he left it up to God to take care of him. Do we do this, or do we handle it the worldly way? Getting upset and trying to prove to people how you were right, and then saying or doing something wrong in the process. In my opinion, the first step is getting ourselves to truly believe that Godís word is true and that he will never leave us in a tight spot if we are fulfilling his desires. After doing this, we will have the confidence that we need to speak Godís word to whomever he leads us to.
I pray that God helps us to be content in whatever state we are in, so that we have the strength and courage to be able to look at situations dead in the face and say do whatever you will, but I know my God stays true to his word and never will he leave or forsake me!
Stay blessed and spread the word.
